This bug occurs when I ... login and see any folders

The description of the bug:

Testing 1.4.9a from 1.4.6 and it shows I have messages 'INBOX (10/14)' but
I get 'THIS FOLDER IS EMPTY'. Now, my version of SM shows as 1.4.6 PXB
since someone previously gave me code to modify 1.4.6 since my IA
eMailServer 5.3.4 is somehow non-standard???

** I did replace my functions/imap_general.php file from my 1.4.6 into my
1.4.9a and this seems to have remedied the issue, but not sure of what I
may have broke. **

I can reproduce the bug by: Logging into 1.4.9a
