But you are missing the whole point, which is that if you are using
development code and expect support for it, we request that you use
the latest codebase.  We won't be otherwise motivated to fix things
that are possibly already fixed in the development stream.

No one on the team ever recommends the development code for production
use.  *BUT*, if you do, *AND* you ask for support, you should be using
the newest dev code.
