I'm not sure what you're trying to achieve. In order to run SquirrelMail
you need a web server and an IMAP server. An SMTP server might be nice to
have as well. Configure SquirrelMail to use the IMAP and SMTP servers of
your choice, the ones you have at your LAN perhaps, and that's it.

If you need to make sure that the web server, IMAP server, and SMTP server
aren't reachable from the rest of the world, please consult the
documentation for those servers, as well as your firewall.

SquirrelMail configuration choices are found in "config/conf.pl": "2.
Server Settings".
