Can't help with the language, but for the folders...
Options->Folder Preferences Under Folder List Options
'Enable Unread Message Notification:' select All Folders.
On my screen that's the 7th option from the top. Sorry I don't know how it
will appear in German.   Good Luck.

Only think I'd REALLY like to see is the versions appear as comments on
the pages so I could easily tell you what version of SM this is (I'm
running Debian Sarge's standard version).
