Please include information about what IMAP server you are using, since
that's more key to this issue than your MTA for example.  Whatever it
is, you should research how folders are created and subscribed to for
that IMAP server and then just go look at how the mailbox/maildir
changes when each client creates a folder and when you know the
difference you will be a lot closer to fixing the problem.
