Is using SmartSieve a requirement?  If all you need is a SIEVE daemon
and a nicely intergrated ruleset creator/manager, then activate the
timsieved that comes with Cyrus IMAP, and install the AvelSieve plugin
for SquirrelMail.  You'll get a nice "Filters" link at the top that
takes you to the AvelSieve plugin page, where you can build your
rules.

Works like a charm here (running Cyrus IMAP, Postfix, Amavisd-new,
ClamAV, and SquirrelMail 1.5.1).
