I have to tell you that i'm still learning PHP here. How do i rewrite it to 1.4.6? I noticed that there are two files up there. One has gz file extension and the other one is .diff. Sorry i really need your guidance on this.

patch is for 1.4.7cvs. rewrite it to 1.4.6 and you will have plugin that
adds more fields.
Or modify functions/abook_*, functions/addressbook.php and
src/addressbook.php files and add extra fields there.
