I did an online update and there was a security update for php which brought all my versions up to: php4-session-4.3.4-43.61 php4-4.3.4-43.61 apache2-mod_php4-4.3.4-43.61 php4-mysql-4.3.4-43.61 And i am now able to get to the login screen!
