Start SquirrelMail configuration utility (conf.pl), select 10. Languagesmenu option and change default charset from iso-8859-1 to utf-8 orwindows-1256. These character sets should allow use of Arabic charactersin US English translation. If you select utf-8, make sure that php has mbstring support. If you select windows-1256, remember that SquirrelMail does not supportthis character set in IMAP folder names. If you use Arabic characters infolder names, they will be displayed correctly only in SquirrelMail. > I am using squirrelmail ver 1.4.6 (latest stable), the Translation ver> 1.4; the operating system language is English.>> I can't compose arabic in plain text, the only way is to use html_mail's> Universal Keyboard ver 2.3-1.4>> Hope this info helps.>> Regards>> On 6/15/06, Tomas Kuliavas <tokul@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote:>>>> You have Arabic text written in windows-1256 and tagged as iso-8859-1 or>> windows-1251.>>>> مايو>> 2006. شكرا التحيات>>>> Please understand that most of SquirrelMail translations use character>> that is specific to selected translation.
