I use a Squid proxy just for Boinc (I have 8 PCs and it caches the

VPN. I want to tell the VPN to not put Squid through it (as for some
reason Boinc servers hate VPNs). I can tell the VPN to exclude certain
apps by giving it the name of the executable. But what executable in
Squid actually connects to the network?
The squid binary name is 'squid'.
Odd, I told Ivacy VPN to use split tunneling and not put
"C:\Squid\bin\squid.exe" through the proxy. Boinc is still sluggish.
Can I tell from the Squid logs if it's using the VPN?
Hmm, not sure. Squid logs the IPs of servers it contacts. You would need
to find out how to trace the traffic flows to or through the VNP
externally and see if the connections match up. I am not sure how to do
that on modern Windows machines.
