I have compiled squid 4.0.17 on 16.04 fully updated and it's available in tar.xz at: http://ngtech.co.il/repo/bin/ubuntu/1604/beta/ I am still planning to put it inside a deb file but for now there are others who do that so I am just building it to make sure it builds and works as expected. I used the following versions: gcc (Ubuntu 5.4.0-6ubuntu1~16.04.4) 5.4.0 20160609 g++ (Ubuntu 5.4.0-6ubuntu1~16.04.4) 5.4.0 20160609 But also other gcc versions (4.8, 4.9 and later) and even clang (3.5) but to no avail.
