Note the "Single Sign-On" just means using the same account credentials to access mutiple different services. That can be done with any authentication type the services accept. If you can use Negotiate/Kerberos instead of NTLM, please do so. Squid provides some helpers for Negotiate auth. Samba provides the ntlm_auth helper for NTLM.
