hi ,
I have this error after an update of my centos 6.6 system.
Logs files are empty and i can't stop ou restart squid.
squid -v
Squid Cache: Version 3.1.23
ps -fu squid
UID PID PPID C STIME TTY TIME CMD
squid 4711 4708 20 Oct19 ? 2-02:05:21 (squid) -f
/etc/squid/squid.conf
squid 4714 4711 0 Oct19 ? 00:00:00 (unlinkd)
There should be a sbin/squid daemon manager process on that list at the
top. It may have been killed by something else.
You might have to "kill -9 4711" then erase the .pid file and restart Squid.
It would be best if you could upgrade to a more current Squid version.
3.1 is quite ancient.
