full length of each object on every write. Which does not affect 3.x.

saying it's fixed in 2.7 or that you think of 2.x as ancient history.


Its an old problem, going back to design decisions in or before 2.0 AFAIK.

That particular design was fixed in 3.0 beta cycle somewhen. So present in all 2.x code.
