The Squid HTTP Proxy team is very pleased to announce the
availability of the Squid-3.1.0.10 beta release!

This release contains a number of bug and stability fixes following the previous releases with large changes.

A few of the patches since 3.1.0.7 introduced regressions.
  - Bug 2680: Regression Crash after rotate with no helpers running
  - Bug 2695: Regression in WCCPv2 L2 mask assignment
  - Bug 2707: Regression in FTP anonymous auth
  - Bug 2699: Build failure NTLM smb_lm helper
  - Add localhost to default permitted networks

These are now believed to be resolved along with many much older bugs.

The http_port allow-direct option configuration option has been ported from Squid-2 in this release.

Some licensing updates and many documentation fixes are being made. Part of which is the addition of a squidclient man(1) page provided by Debian. The Squid and related man(8) and man(1) pages are now provided online for all Squid-3 versions. The "Helper Manuals" link on the version release page will lead you to the 3.1 manuals
