The Squid HTTP Proxy team is very pleased to announce the
availability of the Squid-3.1.0.3 beta release!
This release fixes a large number of issues found in the previous 3.1
release. Including install and build errors in some helpers.
All testers of 3.1 are strongly encouraged to upgrade to this release.
Changes to Note are:
- Regression Fix: StoreIOBuffer patch removed.
This was inherited from a fix to 3.0.STABLE10 and only affects snapshots
of 3.1.0.2. Upgrading may result in a large number of warnings to be
displayed and some response delay as these objects are cleared from the
cache.
Clearing the cache completely on upgrade from any 3.1.0.2 snapshot build
is recommended.
- Security Bug 2526: default ALLOW when no list specified
ACLChecklist was found to contain an implicit allow on certain error
cases in the code. This does not effect any of the main security
controls. But the effects of closing this hole on minor controls is not
yet widely tested.
If any strange behavior of access controls is noted on this release
please notify squid-dev mailing list immediately.
NP: In 3.1 adaptation_access controls are known to have strange broken
behavior. That is still being worked on.
- Bug 2424: slow file descriptor leak
A long standing bug from 3.0. The resolution of this issue means that
Squid-3 can now be expected to run well under high traffic loads without
running out of filedescriptors.
