Or to be more exact, the DNS server used by your Squid refuses Squid to
use it for resolving the requested host name.

Check your DNS server configuration. Both the list of DNS servers used
by Squid (set in /etc/resolv.conf or squid.conf) and that these servers
really do provide resolver functionality (recursive queries) to the
Squid host.
