Squid supports it provided the server complies with HTTP specifications
and sends a proper Vary header and don't mixup ETag (compressed and
uncompressed variands should have different ETag)

But for example IIS refuses to compress content to HTTP/1.0 clients such
as Squid even if the client advertises support. Apache have no problem
however.
