Which configure test is it failing at? (see config.log) I would guess one of the tests gets stuck in the background somehow. An educated guess is the "if AF_UNIX dgram sockets support large packets" test as this is the only test forking a child process.. if that's the case then you can try ./configure ... ac_cv_af_unix_large_dgram=no Regards Henrik
