Even if you only need winbind for authentication?

Sometimes it's not possible to join to the domain .... :-(

Some time ago I have tried Samba 4.0.0TP1, but the Negotiate support was no more operational. I don't have no more tried with the latest TP2.

Also it's my understanding the Samba-4 ntlm_auth should still work with
Samba-3, but maybe not any longer..  (was some time since this was
discussed)

If I remember right, Andrew wrote that in the current Samba 3 there is still some missing piece of code needed for the Kerberos/Negotiate support.
