You need to watch out for ACL complexity: I've had an experience with
NetCache appliances where due to a complex ACL (ported over from a
running Squid conf), the actual performance of a NetCache box was
exactly 1/3rd of the specs (600 hits/second, down from a spec of 1.8k)
