We can emphasize this, but this has been done in the past, and anyone is
free to do it anyway if they want ;) For what it's worth, for small
series (just a few patches), it might be a bit overkill.

I've seen various options being discussed (push requests, patchew,
shared location, ...), but no clear consensus yet. Shared location was
the option with the fewer "free bonuses" (CI, ...), and has the drawback
that everyone needs to have access to that location (which is not going
to be true for new contributors).
