[PATCH 0/4] sparc: Minor tftpboot.img build fixes

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi all,

This is a small series that fixes a small set of issues with the tftpboot.img Makefiles.

Patches are:
1. Compile errors in piggyback_64.c
2. Robert Reif's obvious fixes to the Makefile for sparc32
3. Sam Ravnborg's fix for piggyback_32.c
4. My fixes for the Makefile to make it all actually work.

I'm now at a bit of a dead end with this, my build environment, an Ultra 1e doesn't seem to be able to build a proper sparc32 kernel image from the sparc32 default config.

I have a couple of issues here:
1. in System.map, the start symbol is at 0xf0004000, which appears to be well after the end symbol which is at 0x0007d8b4.
2. somehow, the math to determine the start of the executable code in the kernel image is off, however this could be because it's looking at the wrong file. (around line 110 in piggyback_32.c

I'm going to try to duplicate some of the methodology of the sparc64 part of the makefile and see if this fixes it.

But, in the spirit of release early / release often, here are the current patches to this part of the kernel as I'm testing it now.

Thanks,

Julian Calaby
