The first open source release of FAM was March 1, 2000. This security bug
was from Sept. 9, 1999. The FAM cvs history only goes back to 2003.

I think the problem was fixed, but I can't retrieve any of the advisories:
ftp://sgigate.sgi.com/security/20000301-01-I
ftp://patches.sgi.com/support/free/security/advisories/20000301-03-I
ftp://patches.sgi.com/support/free/security/advisories/20000301-02-I

The website is at http://oss.sgi.com/projects/fam/

You may want to ask the fam mailing list for calrification.
