Out of the box yes. If a person does the proper things, one is no
more/less secure than the other.

The tools are there in both to make them equally secure. It isn't a
point of more or less secure if one uses the proper methods and tools to
tighten them up sufficiently. But, if all someone does is install it and
not do anything else, the statement that 7.2 is more secure than 7.1 is
accurate.
