Hi,

That's true only if you are not hooked up to an Ethernet switch,
unless the port you are attached to is a "monitor" port.
I.e. monitoring the other ports that are in the same VLAN(s).
Hmm! Again only true again for IP. Since the switch shall and will not send any of those packets if you are not on a monitor port.
