Not crazy, and what I call "package bundles" have not only been feasible,
but have actually been attempted and are known to "work"
for more than 6+ years now, using rpm, all versions.

(aside)
I use scarequotes advisedly, there are many who disagree "work".
You will have to form your own opinions. The $64K question to
ask when someone claims that "package bundles" don't work, won't work,
and are a bad idea as well, is
Have you ever tried to create/install a "package bundle"?
and listen to the reply carefully.

Here is a description of current work-in-progess @rpm5.org to address
remaining issues from the last feature request for "package bundles",
the previous RFE for essentially the same feature was on this list IIRC,
about a month ago:


Again, not crazy, "package bundles" are entirely feasible and reasonable imho.
