Hi, I have a user reporting the following error messages when running "rpm -i" for 3 packages I provided. I don't see these error messages on any of my Red Hat or SuSE test systems. The user has tried two different SuSE systems. error: cannot get shared lock on /var/lib/rpm/Packages error: cannot open Packages index using db3 - Operation not permitted (1) error: cannot open Packages database in /var/lib/rpm He claims he is logged in as root during the "rpm -i".
