Hi All- I just resolved this; I had no /var/tmp in my chroot area. I guess the rc (2) is a standard shell rc (NOENT). Works fine once I added /var/tmp. Strange that %post scripts worked but %pre did not...
%pre has alway had a "best effort" semantic for hysterical reasons. But yes, rpm writes scriptlets into %{_tmppath} (i.e. /var/tmp) before executing. Hmmm, I'm pretty sure that I added a lazy mkdir on /var/tmp the 14th or 15th time I had to diagnose this problem years ago. What version of rpm are you using? 73 de Jeff _______________________________________________ Rpm-list mailing list Rpm-list@xxxxxxxxxx https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/rpm-list
