I've been packaging up a web application as RPMs. While writing up the README file, I had difficulty coming up with a short synopsis of what rpm is. (I find I tend to concentrate on the "build-once, install many" feature and neglect the system management aspect.) If you had to concisely summarize what rpm is, what would you say?
