Yes for rpm-4.4.4. Or equivalently, fix the code so that the lock is
not used if not defined (what I'm going to do for 4.4.5, just not
there yet).
2. Are the files /usr/lib/rpm/i[3456]86-linux/macros (and friends)
needed by rpm or just by rpmbuild ? Shouldn't they be in the
rpmbuild package ?
Depends on what is configured within the files, but yes, most macros
are needed only by rpmbuild.
3. Same question also for librpmbuild ?
librpmbuild is needed to do rpm --query --specfile (for the *.spec
parser), but the implementation sets a vector at run-time if
librpmbuild is present.
