I have been getting this error soon after I launch up2date console and the tool shutsdown abnormally (either as user or root):

Configuration: Dell Precision OEM Redhat Enterprise V4 (EMT 64-bit)
Kernel: 2.6.9-5.EL
I have tried using just the RPM to update packages but I get into dependency nightmare. Same with
yum and apt. Any help appreciated.
