Can anything properly be assumed about how RPM will treat a file F which
is initially installed by package A and then also installed by a new
package B when package B is downgraded to a different version which
never contained file F. In all cases rpm reports that both packages
contain the file when both A and the new B are installed. In all cases
rpm also reports that package A contains F after downgrade to B.
However, sometimes it appears that F has been deleted and other times
it remains in the file system.
This is RPM 4.0.4. I'm looking for a way to move a file from one
package to the other without causing it to disappear on downgrade if the
new package managing the file has to be downgraded for some reason.
Thanks.
Mike
