Yes. You need to update to rpm-4.2-1 (instead of the rpm-4.2-0.69). I'm not
sure where to get this from RH anymore, but it is much less broken.
You can get this package from: <ftp://ftp.rpm.org/pub/rpm/test-4.2/>.


In the meantime, follow Paolo's advice to get yourself unstuck.
