Heh. Me, I didn't make that mistake; my words were

Sadly, the right thing to do seems to be to bend over
and really learn how to write a spec file, and how to
run rpmbuild. I'm going through that process now
for the second or third time. Each time it gets
a little easier.

So keep on writing those simple spec files, reading other peoples' spec files, and improving yours bit by bit. Sorry there's no magic bullet. There just aren't enough people writing RPMs to make it worth publishing a book about, I suppose... er, one that's up to date, anyway... - Dan
