Wouldn't you want to use Parametric Path names for this?  You could set
default base directory names in your pkginfo and then change them via a
request script...  See the Application Packaging Developer's Guide in the
Advanced Package Creation Techniques chapter.  This doc is available off of
the Sun Web site.

Sorry i am posting this question in this group.

Can someone tell me how i can get a directory input from user and install
the package in that directory in solaris using pkgadd?

I have issues with redefining BASEDIR in request, then pass it on to the
rest of the scripts.
