rpm package not removing cleanly?

All,

I am using prefix in my rpm package and everything will be installed under
${prefix}/abc/xyz directory.

I noticed that when I perform "rpm -e mypackage.rpm", it cleans everything
under ${prefix}/abc/xyz and still leave ${prefix}/abc/xyz. How can i
completely clean everything under ${prefix}?
