Dell GX270 Sound (Intel 82801ER/EB) under RH Ent. Linux WS 4

We've run into a bit of a problem with the sound on our Dell GX270's.  
The system-config-soundcard utility appears to correctly detect the card 
and driver, but no sound comes out.  I've tested the speakers and they 
work just fine.  Other users had no problem on GX270's with RH EL WS ver 
3, but moving to WS4 broke the sound.  Any thoughts?
