AC97 Soundcard does not work with RedHat 9

Hi all,
My board is Asus P4XP-X whic has Intel 82801BA/BAM chip. I use RedHat 9 and Windows 2000. My sound card works with Windows 2000. When I run "sndconfig"  it founds a sound card "Intel Corp.|82801BA/BAM AC'97 Audio". But it doesnt work, there is no sound at all.
