Hi everybody.

I have a Asus M2400N notebook with Intel ICH 4 architecture.

sndconfig identifies:
"Intel Corp. |82801DB AC'97 Audio"

BUT complains ... (original in german, thus probalby not exact)
"... is usualy supported, but currently deactivated. You can eventually
solve the problem by changing the BIOS settings to NO PNP OS."

Well, I would try that, but the BIOS does not support that. :-(

What happens if you just load the module?
It tells, that it is unable to allocate irq 0.
There is no option to set an IRQ, so far.

So here is what I did and the results:

insmod soundcore ok
insmod ac97_codec ok
insmod i810_audio fails
Using /lib/modules/2.4.20-18.9/kernel/drivers/sound/i810_audio.o
PCI: No IRQ known for interrupt pin B of device 00:1f.5.
i810_audio: unable to allocate irq 0
/lib/modules/2.4.20-18.9/kernel/drivers/sound/i810_audio.o: init_module: No such device
dmesg output

i810_audio: unable to allocate irq 0
cat /proc/interrupts
0: 49107 XT-PIC timer
1: 907 XT-PIC keyboard
2: 0 XT-PIC cascade
4: 0 XT-PIC ehci-hcd
5: 1508 XT-PIC usb-uhci, usb-uhci, usb-uhci, ohci1394, eth0
8: 1 XT-PIC rtc

Well, I wonder, why only IRQ 5 is used, but anyway, lots of IRQs are free to use.
