Than your kernel source prabably didnt install correct. I would do a fresh install if you can. And install the new kernel and sources over. Also, I would update the kernel through the RedHat Network. You will need to use the kernel source for the kernel you wish to run. Which should be the new one. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mirabella, Mathew J" <Mathew.Mirabella@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <sound-list@xxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, March 05, 2003 7:15 PM Subject: RE: [Sound] Audigy sound driver problem with installing. > but as i said, for the kernal i am using. there is no such target for > /lib/modules/linux-2.4.18-24.8.0/build/configs/ does not exist because build is there but it is a broken target symlink and there is no /usr/src/linux-2.4.18-24.8.0/ to link to. > > /lib/modules/linux-2.4.18-14/build/configs/ is there. should i use this config file for the new kernel? but it is from the old one, so it will probably not be appropriate. > > > -----Original Message----- > From: Clyde McKelvey [mailto:cmckelvey@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] > Sent: Thursday, 6 March 2003 11:01 AM > To: sound-list@xxxxxxxxxx > Subject: Re: [Sound] Audigy sound driver problem with installing. > > > In RedHat, you need to copy your kernels config file > > /lib/modules/(kernel version)/build/configs/ > > to > > /lib/modules/(kernel version)/build/.config > > Just copy and rename it.
