Angelo
I took a look at the guides as well as Scott's suggestion.
Samba is running now but Winblows can't access the directory.
Keeps saying I don't have permission.
I have samba set to "read/write" and "Allow access to everyone"
Thanks

John,
Check out samba. It should be loaded on the system. Run "rpm -qa |
grep -i samba" and see what comes up.
If it is installed, you can start it by running "service smb start" or
"/etc/init.d/smb start".

Subject: Ok I give up!
This RH9 for dummies is not helping at all.
I guess I am worse than a dummy.
Does anyone know where I can find the procedures to get my RH9 machine
to be a winblows file server.
I'd like to use it to store and backup files to keep my winblows machine
backed up and also cleaner.
Some day I would like to turn it into a web server so I can experiment
with my own home grown website.
Thanks
JohnH.
