John, Check out samba. It should be loaded on the system. Run "rpm -qa | grep -i samba" and see what comes up. If it is installed, you can start it by running "service smb start" or "/etc/init.d/smb start". http://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/linux/RHL-9-Manual/custom-guide/s1-sa mba-configuring.html -angelo -----Original Message----- From: shrike-list-bounces@xxxxxxxxxx [mailto:shrike-list-bounces@xxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of JohnH Sent: Tuesday, December 05, 2006 10:13 To: Discussion of Red Hat Linux 9 (Shrike) Subject: Ok I give up! This RH9 for dummies is not helping at all. I guess I am worse than a dummy. Does anyone know where I can find the procedures to get my RH9 machine to be a winblows file server. I'd like to use it to store and backup files to keep my winblows machine backed up and also cleaner. Some day I would like to turn it into a web server so I can experiment with my own home grown website.
