Connect to the Internet as an User

Hello hats,

Well, this problem is not new, but I haven't found the right solution to
it.

I did chmod +s /usr/bin/vwdial (as somewhere suggested) and thought that
would be it. But then I encountered the following problem:

$ wvdial MY_ISP
--> WvDial: Internet dialer version 1.53
--> Initializing modem.
--> Sending: ATZ
ATZ
OK
--> Sending: ATX3
ATX3
OK
--> Modem initialized.
--> Sending: ATDTisp_number
--> Waiting for carrier.
ATDTisp_number
CONNECT 45333
--> Carrier detected. Starting PPP immediately.
--> Starting pppd at Sat Nov 13 00:41:11 2004
--> pid of pppd: 5886
--> Disconnecting at Sat Nov 13 00:41:11 2004
--> The PPP daemon has died: pppd options error (exit code = 2)
--> man pppd explains pppd error codes in more detail.
--> I guess that's it for now, exiting
--> The PPP daemon has died. (exit code = 2)
$

The root connects easily. What else should I do to make this thing work?

I would thank any feedback I receive.
