Is turning off up2date necessary ?

Not really. Access to RHN will continue for at least until the end of Oct. This means you can still us it to install RPMs and update machine to at least the level of EOL.


Is that for the paid subscription? I thought it ended 30 April. I meant to switch to yum before yesterday, but just never got around to it until then.


I got yum installed and set it for nightly updates.
