Since I am now using the Fedora legacy project and yum to keep my rh9
installation current, how do i go about turning off up2date? Is it even
necessary to do so?

I did
#up2date --config

but an obvious setting for on/off was not apparent to me. I also tried
the services control panel in the gui, but did not see an item for up2date.

man chkconfig

#chkconfig --list

does not mention up2date.

Perhaps I am looking for the wrong thing? What is the name of the utility that monitors the system for updates and runs in the task bar under X?
