IMHO, a major part of what defines "Red Hat 9" (or any other distro's version) is the kernel being run and the utilities that support the running kernel. RH9 uses a 2.4 kernel. The choice to run a 2.6 kernel means you are no longer running RH9. I hope you find help here...but it seems to me to be OT for a shrike list. > > having some problems with modprobe.. > > I keep getting these sort of errors in the /var/log/messages > > net_pf_10 not found > ide_probe_mod > char-major-4-64 > /dev/mapper/control <-- this is when I compile the kernel(make > modules_install install) > > kernel : spurious 8259A interrupt: IRQ7 > cdrom: This disc doesn't have any tracks I recognize! > atkbd.c: Unknown key released (translated set 2, code 0x7a on > isa0060/serio0). > atkbd.c: This is an XFree86 bug.
