Problem listening to audio from cd.

My setup is that I have a SB Live! card and a SCSI CD-ROM. I'm not sure
what else to tell you but if you know something else you need to know
please ask.

When I run any program (grip or KsCD) and try to play an audio cd, here's
what I got in my syslog.

No sound came out but the system locked up pretty good for a couple of
minutes. I could get mouse response and command prompts but and new
process creation would just hang (like a ps to try to find out what to
kill).

Any suggestions?
