I upgraded to kernel 2.6 recently, and certain USB devices don't work anymore. I followed the directions at the following well-known links: http://www.fearthecow.net/index.pl?section=guest&page=kernel http://thomer.com/linux/migrate-to-2.6.html I just moved up to 2.6.2 and module-init-tools-3.0-pre9, and I'm having the same problems. I have CONFIG_HOTPLUG=y in my kernel config, and changed /proc/ksysms to /proc/kallsyms in /etc/rc.sysinit per the instructions.
