Greetings, We are running an IBM x-server 232 system with 2 processors and 4 GB of memory (machine model 8668) with Red Hat version 9. Today our system locked up with no apparent explanation -- we had top running on one of the virtual consoles, and its last display (refreshing at 5 second intervals) showed 138 processes, about a 2.8 load average, and 89-90% idle time on each processor. Rebooting brought the system back up OK (but of course destroyed much of the evidence). Has anyone out there had similar experiences, or some clue as to what might be happening? Thanks in advance, H.
